A talk on IT-Tage 2024

Last week I attended the IT Days 2024 conference in Frankfurt. I had known about it for some time, but never got around to attending. This time, however, I had a special reason.

I had my own talk on the topics of philosophy and software architecture. It combined the principles and experiences of the last 2500+ years with the current tasks of a software architect in a process. This is divided into four phases from requirements elicitation to maintenance.

You can easily imagine that it has become more than just a few slides, far too many. Despite a double slot, I was only able to scratch the surface of the topics. That’s why I’ve put the materials together again at

In addition, the topic will be dealt with more compactly in an article in Informatik Aktuell. All in all, the philosophy is so extensive and interesting that I will go into it further here.

The conference itself was very interesting in terms of the mix of topics, both the contributions and the exhibitors. In addition to topics relating to the cloud and microservices, including a critical view, I found the contributions and visitors relating to green IT / green AI interesting. This is also something that will come up here in the future.

To round things off, there were two toppings. On one evening there was a pub quiz with lots of interesting questions, not just from the IT sector. My group fought well (guessed), but only ended up in the middle of the field. And the next evening there was a poetry slam with funny but also very serious contributions. In the end, three artists were awarded prizes to much applause.

Let’s see what I submit to the CfP for the IT Days 2025.
